Quiet Prospect is a painting of the Hokitika Gorge. Fresh water with glacial sediment flows down the Hokitika River into the narrow gorge causing the light to reflect this vibrant opaque turquoise water. It’s one of those places that if you haven’t seen in person, you don’t really believe it’s that color.
